Makeup is a passion for many women out there. Sometimes, starting to use makeup brings many doubts to the beginners: which products to buy, where to invest, how to get the right tone of foundation and corrector and much, much more! Not to worry everybody starts somewhere! Being new to makeup doesn’t mean you need to learn about everything all at once. In my opinion and in realty there are only a few essentials you need  if you are just starting out. Save all the other products for down the road as you gain confidence in your makeup application skills. I will share with you my "Perfect Ten"  Theses 10 items are what I believe is most important and the basic essentials to makeup.

1 Face Primer
Primer is extremely important! The purpose of facial primer is no different from paint primer - just think of your skin as the wall with its natural imperfections and color challenges. It also provides a smooth surface on which to apply makeup, and it can also help keep your makeup in place, which is especially important during humid summer months or long days at the office!

My Recommendation: Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

2 Liquid Foundation
Whether you prefer sheer, medium or full coverage, liquid foundation is a great way to get smooth and even coverage on your face. Foundation is one of the most important products in makeup. It will even out your skin tone and hide any imperfections. Nevertheless it has to blend very well with your skin in order to enhance it and wearing foundation should never feel and look like a mask. Make sure to choose the right foundation that blends well with your skin tone.

My Recommendation: MAC Liquid Foundations

3 Concealer
Concealer plays a very important part in makeup. You will use it to hide your under eyes darkness, conceal blemishes and uneven skin parts and possibly highlighting needed spots in your face.
Concealer is definitely a product that you should invest in order to obtain the best results possible. Use a concealer after applying foundation.

My Recommendation: MAC Studio Finish Concealer

4 Eye Primer
Eye primer is the same reason we use face primer. It gives our eyeshadow a pop of color and it lasts longer.

My Recommendation :Urban Decay Primer Potion

5 Neutral Eye Shadow Palette
Buy a small to medium eye-shadow palette and you will have all you need! When starting out with eye shadows for the first time it is a good idea to keep it pretty natural. This is another product you want to spend a little money on so you are using a good eyeshadow that actually wears its true color and lasts on your eyelids. My suggestion is to buy a palette of neutrals and then work your way up to brighter or darker colors.

My Recommendation : Urban Decay Naked 1 Naked 2 Naked 3   MAC- Make your own palette.

6 Gel or Liquid Eyeliner
Just starting out I would use a pencil its best to control and get an even line. Eyeliner helps our lashes look fuller and provides a completeness to our look. Once you are comfortable you can venture out into the world of gels and liquids. (there my favorite)

My Recommendation: MAC eyeliner pencil

7 Mascara
This is a product I can NOT go without! Mascara helps lengthen your lashes and create volume to your lashes by using a few coats of mascara after your shadow and liner are complete. Mascara will help you look more awake and allow your eyes to appear larger. I don't leave the house without Mascara on! Its my ultimate favorite makeup product.

My Recommendation: Too Faced- Better than Sex, Benefit They're Real, L'Oreal Telescopic

8 Bronzer
Once you have applied your foundation and concealer you should apply a little bronzer on your cheek bones. It helps give your skin a natural glow. Make sure you don't pick a darker color than your skin , you want it natural with a touch of glow to enhance your skin.

My Recommendation: Bare Minerals, MAC, Too Faced

9 Powder
Powder is needed to set your makeup. This will be the final step in your makeup application. It helps to set everything in place. If you have oily or combination skin you should apply powder on top of your foundation and corrector where your skin normally shines. Make sure you get a lightweight powder which sets your makeup giving you a polished and natural look.

My Recommendation: MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder

10 Makeup Brushes
Makeup brushes are very important to get a good makeup look. If you can invest in some good brushes for face and eyes that would be helpful. To start out you definitely should invest in a  good powder brush, bronzer brush, and foundation brush.
